PSHE at Our Lady of Peace encompasses all that we are trying to achieve through our mission statement and core values. In PSHE we cover the Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education and Citizenship objectives.
As educators, our aim is to prepare the children with the life skills and knowledge they need to live safely and responsibly in the world. The PSHE curriculum is very much part of this preparation and ensuring that we help to mould responsible citizens of the future, who are able to able to stand up for what they think is right; articulate their opinions; make informed decisions and know who they are as individuals.
Through PSHE lessons we cover topics such as healthy living (diet, exercise, personal hygiene, drugs and alcohol), keeping safe, democracy, rights and responsibilities, anti-bullying, communities, rules and laws, the local and global community, social, emotional aspects of learning (SEAL), economic well-being, as well as relationship and sex education (RSE).
We are following the 'Go Givers programme' across the school.
