Art/Design

We believe in developing and fostering the aesthetic and spiritual aspects of each child's personality through an art curriculum.

Our programme follows the guidelines set by the National Curriculum. We provide children with experience in sketching, drawing, painting, modelling and in the use of a range of media including I.C.T.

The programme includes studies of the art of other periods and other cultures and religions in a variety of media, providing a cross-curricular link.

Art enables children to communicate what they see, feel and think. It is an opportunity for them to experiment with their ideas and the use of colour, texture, form and pattern. Through art, children explore different materials and processes and learn a wide range of skills. We encourage self-evaluation of work and children are taught to be resilient to achieve their goals.
